ABOUT

James Kigin, "an American in Paris" for more than 30 years, has been at the forefront in the use of new technology in training, education, and tourism.
 
After 20 years as the Director of Sales and Markerting of several leading multimedia publishing companies in France, James started his own independent consultancy activity.
 
You will find in the "Clients" section (coming soon) some of the companies he has collaborated with over the years as a bilingual international consultant. 
 
After working part-time the last 15 years at VOCABLE, James is currently available for new consulting projects, and is proposing Executive coaching sessions for managers who need help with their presentation and communication skills in English.
Former Business Development Manager at VOCABLE

For the last 15 years James was employed part-time by VOCABLE, a language learning publishing company based in Paris.

 

Mr. Lecat, the founder and CEO of VOCABLE, hired James to help in the company's stratigic development particularly in the online field, putting together and implementing the digital initiatives of the publication.

Today, James is working as an independent consultant.

 

 

Marketing Consultant 

From 2009 until the end of 2015, James had a part-time assignment at NetControl, an IT services company in the tourist industry.

 

James worked on putting together the company's different web sites, product sheets, sales strategy, and email marketing.

James also organized and participated in NetControl's presence at various trade shows in the tourist industry such as SimeSitem-MuseumExperts au Louvre, Busworld à Courtrai, EquipHotel à Paris,  Lumiville à Lyon...

 

 

Conference Speaker and Moderator (Bilingual)       

James frequently participates as a speaker or a moderator at seminars and conferences in France and abroad.

 

Some of the events include:

- Educatec, eLearn Expo, Autoformation Online, Corporate University...

- Expolangues which last  edition was in 2015 in Paris

James will be moderating the Language Conferences in the London conference room on February 6th, 2020 at the Learning Technologies France Event in Paris at the Porte de Versailles.

International Consultant & Executive Coach

As a bilingual consultant based in Paris specialized in strategic development in the field of using new technologies for performance improvement, James assists foreign or French companies in their market research, business development and negociations in France or internationally.
 

James is also available as an Executive Coach in English or in French for managers that need help with their presentation and communication skills. 

BIOGRAPHY

James Kigin received his B.A. degree from the University of Saint John's MN, USA, and his D.E.A. (first year of Doctorate degree) from the University of Paris-Sorbonne.

After teaching for a couple of years, James moved into an executive position in 1980, as the Marketing Director at TOTALE FORMATION, (creator of the first computer assisted language learning method with sound: the Télé-Tutor). 

Then in 1992 James was named Sales Director of MEDIACONCEPT (producer of some of the first CD ROM training courses in France and publisher one of the largest multimedia educational software catalogues in Europe).

Following the 1998 merger with CITCOM, a subsidiary of FRANCE TELECOM MULTIMEDIA, James participated in the launch of the first on-line English language learning course: WebEnglish , and the first French Learning Management System: WebTutor. 

After leaving CITCOM, James became the Director for Business Development of W3interactive, a French start-up that specialized in the distribution of multimedia content over the Internet in the areas of communication and training. 

At the beginning of 2001, James left W3interactive to work as an independent consultant.

 

From 2004 till the end of 2019 James was employed part-time by VOCABLE, and from 2009 - 2015, he had a part-time assignment at NetControl.

 

Today, James is working as an independent consultant and an Executive English Coach.
